How we list law firms
The rules every listing follows – who is listed, on which country page, and what a paid placement can and cannot change.
Who gets listed
A firm is listed when its own website shows it practises law, with an office address in the country and a phone number or email. International firms and network members are listed for their office in each country, from that office’s own page or their network’s official member page. Legal directories, rankings and review sites can help us find firms, but they never count as proof.
We leave out firms without their own website, dead or parked sites, consultancies and agents that are not law firms, and anything we cannot confirm.
Which country page a firm appears on
The office decides: a firm with offices in several countries gets one listing per country. Other cities in the same country are shown on the listing.
What a listing shows
The office address, other cities, the practice areas and languages the firm states, lawyers it names, any international firm or network it belongs to, and its contacts. We do not publish rankings, awards, ratings, client names or claims about results.
Checking lawyers against official rolls
Where a country publishes its roll of lawyers openly online, we checked the lawyers each firm names against it in October 2026. A listing then shows which named lawyers we found. Not appearing in that check does not mean a lawyer is not admitted – rolls differ in coverage and spelling. Every country page explains who admits lawyers there.
How we check
Every record is read from the firm’s own website. Details we cannot confirm are left blank. A sample of listings was checked a second time by a reviewer trying to prove each one wrong, and the errors found were fixed. We re-check listings at least every six months.
Order and paid placements
Free listings are shown alphabetically, and that order is never for sale. Firms can pay for an Enhanced profile or one of at most two Country Featured profiles; both are labeled. Paying never changes the A to Z list or what we say about a firm.
No referrals
We are a directory, not a referral service. We do not take details of legal matters, and we never charge a fee linked to a client or a matter.
Corrections and removals
Any firm can ask us to correct or remove its listing through the form for law firms. Removal requests are honored without questions.
